❂ Why you should not miss it
The Scalelle trail begins with a panoramic glimpse of the valley final stretch, where the walls become very high, and the history of the Maiella can be "read" on the slopes consumed by the water over the millennia. Once you reach the river, the environment changes again: this time you find yourself immersed in a paradise, another dimension dominated by water and by the very rich blooms, ferns and pools of crystalline water.
